To What Extent Can Technology Help?

I'm involved in discussions regarding the role of technology in education. There have been many discussions about e-learning and mobile learning, but until now I still do not see results that are consistent and significant. To what extent is technology, especially information technology, can help education?

What I mean by helping could be interpreted as improving quality, widening the reach, or even just reduce the burden on teachers. So there are many measures we can use. In theory all of which should be enhanced, but in reality we are still limping along. What lies largely in the form of merely yells still untested, especially from the aspect of consistency.

Information technology developed from the environmental education and research. Strange fact that the utilization of the most difficult or slow. Utilization of IT's most visible is in the business world.

If my impression is negative or pessimistic does not mean I do not do it. I've done some testing and will continue to do so. For example, my lectures I've onlinekan since ... well when ya, forgot ... since I use the web site (maybe 94 years?). My students are now required to use blogs to send their duties. Some of my classes created for the movie and had also conducted an online teaching (with students from several cities across Indonesia). Response or the frequently asked questions I've done through MSN (for students who wear it a lot, do not use YM!), And proved troublesome. (Have you ever been chatting with, or conference with a dozen or dozens?) In fact, last semester I was using online media to do the UTS. But unfortunately I still have not found the right recipe, which can be replicated by the lecturer / other teachers.

Sometimes I think, face to face lecture course is still difficult to be absorbed by the students' knowledge, let alone passing a distance? he he he.

... Still keep trying and never give up ...
