Overweight Problem When PregnantThe new study shows that women's excessive body fat increases during pregnancy, are more likely to deal with overweight or even obese during 21 years later.

This was disclosed by Dr. Abdullah Mamun, in the 11th International Congress on Obesity in Stockholm this week, Dr. Mamun who is also a professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of Queensland, Australia, said his team examine the Body Mass Index (BMI) of 2026 women who gave birth between 1981 and 1983 in Brisbane, Australia, and followed their progress over 21 years later. "After 21 years, women who experience weight gain the most, the possibility of his weight will increase two times, compared with women who put on weight during pregnancy which is exactly 14 kilograms," says Mamun.

James Philips, president of the International Association for the Study of Obesity, commented that the findings clearly show the important people have noticed that women's body weight increases during pregnancy, it does not mean better.

Many women even use pregnancy as an opportunity to eat more food than usual. "Traditionally, especially in the U.S., people think more and more body weight obtained by pregnant women, the more weight baby. But now they do not think the mother's health in the long term. Research shows that greater attention should be given to mothers and babies , "James said.
